slow server or just me?

I hoovered up my router cable and laughed, then realised it snapped. So bought a new one... now when i play online it gets very laggy so have to resort to playing engy and sitting tight.

I then realised it might be my new cable so I upgrqaded my internet connection and the problem stayed. I then got rid of TF2 and reinstalled, went on another server (sorry) and problem solved... but not on Festers. It isnt my router stuff... or is it just me?

It quite possibly not you. Others have been expressing lag during game play. I don't know for sure but KillerCreations have possible change something across the board which is relating to duff network issues hence the lag.

Sit tight I'm sure it'll be sorted shortly.

thats odd as since i started playing again my connections never been better, pings been cut down from 250-300 to 100-150 and ive been lovin it

Killer Creation use different 2 different isp's to get there connection to the out side world (internet) Tiscalli and some other one i have not heard of cant even remember there name doh!.. anyway the problem seems to be with KC's upgrade of there Tiscalli connection.. i believe all should be running smoother very soon

in the last couple of hours there where some lags ...
but over all , it actually seemed to improve

I know this cropped up a couple of nights ago but if Steam goes down for regular maintenance then there is a strong chance that you will get lag. This is probably due to Steam client trying to reconnect to the server.

I don't think this is just down to our server. When I have played on others (don't have a go - Festers is always full these days!) I have had lag problems as well - as have other players.

I wondered initially if it was down to my graphics card driver (which I had previously downgraded due to lag problems). Might try and update that to see if it helps. otherwise I reckon BBloke is right. Steam seems to update itself as and when it pleases these days - even mid game.
