L4D Problem
Re: L4D Problem
? I thought the game was live? Or is that just the demo that's been released? Confused...

Re: L4D Problem
Here's something I found on Steam whislt viewing the L4D forum.
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_art ... -SFLZ-9289
It lists apps that don't play nice with Steam.
I have AVG and Zonealarm to name two. I've have in the past closed both when playing games but I haven't being doing that as much recently. Although AVG 8 is a little more persistent on leaving a couple of processes running even when they are told to terminate.
This is also worth some consideration. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_art ... -TIAV-5361

Re: L4D Problem
Just for infor. I removed AVG on my system and updated graphics drivers and stopped ZA during my last outing on L4D. Not a crash in sight. So far, rock solid.
I opted for ClamWin as an alternative to AVG. No bells or whistles but it offers antivirus protection.
Like they often say if it aint broke dont fix it and it you are not having any trouble then leave everything as it is.

I run a update and see that you can bind the server to a steam group right now. Nice Community response.
Re: L4D Problem
Thanks, I used AVG too, now I have an alternative to remove it. Since then, Steam seems to start up faster... Haven't got enough time to notice any other changes yet. And yes, I too noticed the unstoppable AVG processes.
