Out of game communication
Out of game communication
When the time is there, we are gonna need something for out of game communication, for example, to see if everyone is ready BEFORE we enter the appointed server.
I know you got your vent-fans, TS-people and even skype-lovers who would all want there preferred system, but just to make things easier... We (the dutch REAL-gaming clan) have our own TeamSpeak 3 server running, where everyone is welcome to join.
Download your TS3 client here: http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads
And fill in these settings to connect.
Server-adress = ts.real-games.nl
Password = realgames
Port = 9987

Re: Out of game communication
I'm probably getting way too far ahead of myself again, but that's me...
Re: Out of game communication
Teamspeak hasn't been the preference for gamers since 1999, save for those CS1.6 kiddies.
Nowadays most people prefer Mumble, which is open-source (read:free), flexible and less straining on connections.
Get yours here:
http://mumble.sourceforge.net/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
So far we've used this for BFBC2, so you could ask some of those people for their experiences.

Re: Out of game communication
Not a bad idea but maybe unnecessary. A steam multi-chat would work too. Just invite anyone to join as way of letting them know you want to organise a game. If your team isn't on your friends list you're doing it wrong...
Mumble/TS/vent could come in handy for inter-team chatting though when all talk is off. Agree to maps, heckle, whatever.

Ya, I'm pretty sure the "pros" use mumble. This is why I already have it. j/k I think skype works well too. Maybe you should start a steam group Cal? You seem to do a good job organizing. Being able to see who's online helps.

Yeah, good plan, but what do i call us? Anyone any thoughts on this?DHARMA AGENT wrote:Maybe you should start a steam group Cal? You seem to do a good job organizing. Being able to see who's online helps.
Should be a team name with no more then 3 words i guess, and able to shorten to a 3-letter sign. That looks cool
And maybe a refference to Fester's place? And keep in mind that we'll probably have multiple teams.
Edit: New Topic on this!
