Yea it would probably work on a non-instant spawn server but the red spawn on the last point (I think it was the last point) were too close to some of the points with little by way of cover from sentries for the blue team.

I hadn't taken into account the instant spawn setup on Festers. With the last stage being the defence of the bosses office (and desk) and spawn rooms (basements) being both left and right of that cap, you would need a good blue team as you face an initial bottleneck entering that room/hall. It would be akin to Avanti, where of course the map is winable, but you do need good teamwork with the right classes, something thats been a bit lost since the engineer update.

I'll be pleased when engineers start supporting the team again and remember that the rest of us need ammo/healing and start to build dispensers (and not in places that are totally obscure).

Maybe that breakfloor map could be put on the rtv list again? It'd be good for the times when there are small teams who want to melee.

Festers isn't an achievement server so wouldn't get my vote. Might be fun to play a trick on the drunken crowd of the friday night karaoke though

The only trouble with melee (which i personally hate) and odd maps are that they tend to be server killers, or people just won't join.
I've noted too that the server has been quieter than usual recently, with often an arena map running too which tends to make it remain that way.

Occasionally a few of us will vote in a popular known map which brings up the numbers again. Perhaps one of the other servers such as the karaoke one could be used for niche play at other times?

Around the times of 4-5 the server is usually quiet and most of the people on at that time play an arena until the numbers are greater. I will agree that having an arena map with an empty server is a pain
