ok so I have just over a grand at the ready, i dont need a moniter as i have a big ass flat screen,

I need something that:

- can handle the screen
- best graphics for the money I have
- same goes for ram

can always get external hardrives if need be.....what do you peoples recommend...ive never built a machine so a prebuilt machine would suit me more..../advice!

Building it yourself is not that hard, there are multiple guidelines for it. Some shops can do the assembly for in trade for some cash. Big advantage to build it yourself is that you get the components you want. In a prebuilt thing, it often too expensive or the cheapest components one can get for that kind of money.

Got a shop in mind?

Otherwise, get something like this:

http://tweakers.net/reviews/1429/3/twea ... steem.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

it's in dutch but the components are readable.

Yup, build it yourself dude. With a grand you can build a beast. Make sure you have a good motherboard, as with a good motherboard comes a good manual - helps when sticking it all together

I bought all my stuff from http://www.overclockers.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Decent prices, and user reviews of all the kit. I found this more useful than some magazine and hardware reviews. Decide what system processor you want, then find suitable motherboards, then build up around that according to price and best kit available at your budget. Overclockers has a basket on the left hand side - useful when you add stuff as it calculates and shows you how muh you have spent

For a pre-built system Ankermann have some good track history with some of the lads. Scan's Pre built systems might be worth a look too.
OCUK are too rich for my taste. Support is good but prices in sterling and delivery to ireland are bad

I will also totally agree that build your own is best to get what u want. The research is worth it.
