Why don't you go and drink rubbing alcohol instead?
I don't think you will taste anything if the stuff has 90% alcohol unless you put a drop of poop or Elvis sweat in it.
You could also go with Methanol or lighter fluid, industrial cleaners and whatnot.
I bet the fumes of poteen get you drunk already and don't smoke while the bottle is open.

Yeah, originally, it was an alcohol illegally brewed in Ireland out of potatoes.
I believe the Americans have an equivalent called Moonshine.

It was the kind of stuff that could make you go blind if it was made incorrectly, but back in poverty stricken Ireland of the last century, I'd say loads of people were making it properly.
I remember my Grandad used to have a bottle of it, but he never drank it, he just used it whenever he had muscle trouble, in the very same way as rubbing alcohol!

But i do want a little collection of whiskey, rum, calvados, etc.

I've done the drinking way to much thing before, while i'm sure it'l happen again I am not looking forward to it.
