PLEASE BE AWARE. There is a currently a steam message doing the rounds using the above url in the message body that is not related to Steam in any way.

It looks very authetuc but it's not. The page ultimately requires you to login but you are NOT signing into steam. You are giving away your details to your steam account to some unscruplous nut sack.

If you are using Firefox then please make sure that you see "Valve Corporation" in green on the right hand side of the web address and that the web address is http://steamcommunity.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to make sure you are on the correct site.

Sadly IE is not so good at showing you this but please be prudent and vigilent.

If in doubt please use Steam to access it's Community and Shop.

This will easily fool a lot of people.
Are there any numbers of how many people got scammed already?

...someone should make a bot that tries to login there for 500 or 1000 times per second.
A login bomb or whatever.

Not sure how many have been targetted but Supernova warned me of it. He had two message from two users in a short space of time.

Thanks for including the url Bosco.

I checked out the website/page it takes you to and it is very very well done... even pulling scripts and fav icons from steam themselves. The only difference being where the login page goes to. It wouldn't surprise me that they end up taking you to steam itself and have you loggerd in too.. but they would still have your credentials.

*sigh* gits!

I did a little more research and found that t35.com is a free webhosting site that offers quite a lot for nothing. I checked the web page (I wouldn't advise it just to be on the extra safe side) and noticed it had a t35.com footer:

Code: Select all

Hosted by T35 Free Web Hosting. Online Casinos - Free Domains - Online Casinos - Drug Rehab - Directv Deals
A footer is part of the free webhosting so there would be no info stored at there end to point any fingers.

If any one has inadvertently signed into this web page it would be a very good idea to change your password. If you use one password for loads of things then it may be well worth changing most of you things passwords too. Sometimes you just cant be too careful.
