Mic Settings

Post by BBloke » Sun Oct 12, 2008 4:05 pm

Here are my mic settings during game play. I've used the same with a £5 headset from asda and a £50 headset and they have always offered a great sound level setting.

Playback Settings
Image
(Note the mic is muted and the slider is at the bottom. This stops feedback and prevents you being able to hear your own voice.

Recording Settings
Image
(Note: Microphone slider is half way only. This sider effects the mic pickup. Setting this too high may cause sound distortion.

Mic Boost

(Note: +20db Mic Boost Active)

If you rmic is capable of the boost then check the box. If not you may have to adjust the slider in the recording panel to approx 75%.

This is my ingame settings:

Hope it helps!

Addition if you have a realtek HD Audio motherboard then check this out too:

Windows 7 Settings I use.

Windows Audio Recording Settings. (Right click the windows speaker icon in the system tray and select Recording devices)

1. Click the audio device for your mic and click properties button
2. Select levels tab and set to 50%
3. Set boost to +20db

In game settings for TF2.

1. Both my transmit and receive sliders are on full.
