Servers not showing up

I have this problem where I constantly don't see any steam group servers at all, while there should be at least 4/5 at any given time. Fester's server almost never shows up at all. Also in my server browser, I frequently have "No internet games responded to the query" when trying to find a server. My internet works fine though, never a problem with TF2, or any other games/net activities. Just L4D servers. Any thoughts?

Some times going back to the menu screen works for me, sometimes it doesn't.
Very annoying either way.

Same for me ALL the time, I also cant join people whilst in game. If I want to join someone I will have to exit L4D and then 'Join Game' on them then it will work

if there are free slots then you should always be able to join via the console command connect

I get connection issues myself i cannt join our own server if it is empty but i can follow some one or follow a invite.. its not just our server though i have this issue with must servers.. i didn't look into it enough to work it out yet though

Yeah, usually I can follow someone in as well, though often I just get "Server is not responding". It's very annoying, and most likely some problem with Valve's master servers or something. Hope it'll get fixed ..
