If I get my arse in gear over the next six months it will be in High Redshift Astronomy....from the point of view of job prospects it means a job in MacDons isnt aiming too high

I'm not directly involved in it, its too late in my phd for me to take a proper role in it but the launch was fun. We had a large launch party (with the welsh first minister even...though he was late and missed the launch). As the boosters separated it looked like there was a problem....the entire room was silent
They got the first images from it in the last couple of days, seems to be working fine and they looked good for early shots. If I decide to go for a Post Doc I'd prob end up going for one relating to it or one of the very large ground based arrays being built.

Cool. On a slight tangent, got talking to a policeman yesterday who later revealed that he had a degree in electronics and computer science. Not entirely sure how that leads to being a copper.

The pianist, richard Vranch, had a PHD in nuclear physics. Bet he made more money playing piano on the telly though!
