i know some servers have a thing that automatically moves afk players to spec after a certain amount of time..

Have to say that last night's games were some of the best for ages.

It helps that we were playing some great payload maps though rather than going from Turbine to Badlevel and back constantly.

And i have played on a server where if you dont move or keep repeating the same action you get moved to spec after a short period. I would like to see that.

If teamscramble works it still doesnt fix the situation with a 1/3 rd of each team afk though.
And it just doesnt happen that you loose 4 players of each team for example - there is always an imbalance and players quickly lose heart.

that feature is a part of TF2 and is still there. you will be auto kicked if not in spec or if you have not moved in 5 minutes

Spent ten min trying to get into the server to find an annoying amount of afks too.

Maybe move people to spec after 1 min and kick at 5 if you can?
not sure it would do much really, there will always be people going afk every map or two.
Just have to hope the other team have them too.

Trying to cater for all events isn't always possible with a server full of beer and weed heads. If we set the autokick to be too severe then nobody would have time to go and grab a beer or skin up!

If there are loads of afk's then see if an admin is about - we can soon shift 'em if they are just being afk.

or if bored with long waits to get on the main server, why not join the karaoke server? you wont be long on there and some more people will join

From my point of view people afk in spec aren't the end of the world. It's people who go afk in spawn that are annoying especially when your on the team getting it's arse kicked.
